She was predeceased by: her father Dean Arnold; and her brother Larry. She is survived by: her husband John McDowell of Edgewood; her children, Christopher Hiedemann (Courtney) of Grimes and Kelsey Rickard of Anamosa; her mother Patricia Herboldsheimer (Paul) of Anamosa; her brother Scott Arnold (Penni) of Mesa; and her grandchildren, Haley, Bentley, Alex, Jackson and Ainsley.

Memorial donations may be directed to Camp Courageous, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or the University of Iowa Children's Hospital.
