He was predeceased by: his wife Jeaninne Phelps; his parents, Merton Phelps and Bertha Phelps; and his parents-in-law, Harvey, Dorothy Schenke, Lyle, Dorothy Phelps, Leland, Vivian Phelps, Clarence Handke, Wallace and Lois Hill.
He is survived by: his siblings, Lillian Handke of Garnavillo, Lila Bushaw (Ron) of Plant City, Florida and Lenny Phelps (Janet) of Edgewood. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
