We are sad to announce that on October 26, 2020, at the age of 98, Lavera Schenke of Edgewood, Iowa, born in Elkport, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Burdette Schenke; her parents, Floyd and Bertha; her siblings, Marvin Williams (Bernice), Ray Williams, Ivan Williams, Julius Williams, Irene Gleason (Glen) and Faye Wiskus; and her brother-in-law Leonard Morarend.
She is survived by: her children, Bertha Williams (Willie), Marilee Pityer of Manchester, Gene Schenke (Patti) of Colesburg and Bruce Schenke (Doris) of Colesburg; her grandchildren, Johnathan Pityer (Larissa), Tarilee Deutmeyer (Jeffery), Daren Pityer (Jackie), Emily Matt (Shawn), Amy Sitzmann (Matt), Andrew Schenke, Cory Schenke (Casey) and Jason Schenke (Jessica); her stepgrandsons, Brian Olmstead (Nadine), Eric Olmstead (Virginia) and Nathan Olmstead; her great grandchildren, Stephen, Kody Deutmeyer, Michael, Jared Pityer, Alexandra Pityer, Kinnick, Ella, Kayden Matt, Nora, Max Sitzmann, Rowan, Ryker Schenke, Brayden, Brody and Liam Schenke; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Chase and Declan Olmstead; her sisters, Jean Morarend and Gerry Williams; and her siblings-in-law, Shirley Williams, Hope Schenke and Joe Wiskus. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Because of COVID-19, masks are required at the funeral home.
