It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joan Sperfslage of Edgewood, Iowa, born in Ryan, Iowa, who passed away on November 17, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Chapman and Margaret Chapman (Melchert); her siblings, Howard Chapman and Mary Ellen Haigh; her brother-in-law Bob Ammeter; her granddaughter Nicole Sperfslage; and her son-in-law Steve Albert.
She is survived by: her husband Francis Sperfslage; her children, Shirley Ryan of Altoona, Sharon Fry (Brad) of Greeley, Joyce Albert of Urbana, Kenny Sperfslage (Tammy) of Edgewood and Michael Sperfslage (Dianne) of Edgewood; her grandchildren, Kelley Klemish (Isaac), Tim Ryan, Tonya Reicks (Brian), Justin Fry (Amy), Jeremy Albert, Jennifer Albert, Jason Sperfslage, Kyle Sperfslage (Chelsie), Cory Sperfslage, Lindsay Weber (Derek), Drew Sperfslage (Jess), Adam Sperfslage and Angie Dougherty (Blake); her siblings, Donna Ammeter of Monticello, RaeAnn Goedken (Clarence) of Monticello and Donald Chapman (Katie) of Springville; and her brother-in-law Joe Haigh of Monticello. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
Because of COVID-19 concerns, masks will be required at the church.
