He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph LeRoy West and Darlene Decker Thomas; his stepfather George Thomas; and his siblings, Mike West and Debbie Asher.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Lewman of Eddyville; his children, Crystal Cockrell (Chris) of Texas, Paul "J. R." Jennings (Sara) of Oskaloosa and Amy Hanus (Todd) of Eddyville; and his siblings, Rodney West (Peggy) of Oskaloosa, Karen Sauer of Oskaloosa, Chuck Thomas (Cindy) of Oskaloosa, Cindy Bracy of Des Moines, Richard Thomas of Oskaloosa, Diane Roebuck of Pella, Beth McMurtry (Gary), Anita West, Gary West (Regina) and Joann Cromeans (Frank). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
