She was predeceased by: her parents, Laiten Emmons and Minnie Emmons (Thornburg); her husband Willard Smith; her children, Sandra and Richard; her grandson Richard Shawn; her siblings, Gail (Leona), Dwight (Ruth), Calvin, Fern Putney (Clarence) and Sadie Slauson (Lewis); and her siblings-in-law, Dale Smith (Mary) and Mabel Smith-Spear-Nolan.
She is survived by: her daughters, Joyce Nelson-Egemo (Larry) of Story City, Iowa and Connie Bartlett (Paul Russell) of Liberty, Missouri; her daughter-in-law Shelia Waltz (Michael) of Winterset, Iowa; her stepchildren, David Mains (Mary), Patty Klinesmith and Cindy Sykes (Okey); her grandchildren, Joe, Tim Bartlett, Beth Handly (Egemo), Martin Egemo, Eric Waltz, Nathan Waltz and Sarah Waltz; and also Avon.
