He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Gilman and Mabel Gilman (Boyle); and his brother Roger Gilman. He is survived by: his sisters, Patricia Greenwell of Sun City and Beverly Powell of Des Moines. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to his sister, Beverly.
