It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas R. Johnston of Eagle Grove, Iowa, born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, who passed away on December 25, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas William and Emma Ilene Johnston (Thorn); his brothers, Lionel and Robert Johnston; his son-in-law Tracy Wilcox; and his brother-in-law Scott Weland.

He is survived by: his wife Barb Johnston of Eagle Grove; his children, Troy Johnston (Theresa) of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Kim Wilcox of Charlotte and Lionel Johnston (Amanda) of Eagle Grove; his grandchildren, Dylan, Devyn, Daryn Johnston, Paige, Parker Wilcox, Emma and Grace Johnston; his siblings, Judy Weland of Eagle Grove and Bill Johnston (Cindy) of Seabeck, Washington; and his sister-in-law Jean Johnston of Coralville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
