He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph C. and Myrtle J. (Minor); his sister Barbara Jo; his great-niece Amanda Jo Lalor; and his great-nephew Damian Huffaker.
He is survived by: his former wife Debra Smith; his wife Deb Thielen of Eagle Grove; his son Dylan Thielen of Des Moines; his siblings, Mary Wolver (Steve) of Urbandale and Michael Thielen (Margaret) of Eagle Grove; his mother-in-law Sharon Seibert (Jim) of Eagle Grove; and his sisters-in-law, Denise Moore (Jim) of Altoona and Lisa Brott (Larry) of Des Moines. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
