He was predeceased by: his wife Janice Peterson; his children, Michael David, Lynnette Nickell and Elaine Van Grevenhof; and his siblings, Peggy, Earl of Calvin, A. C., Gib, Esther, Pauline, Iola and Paul.
He is survived by: his daughters, Becky (Allen Porter), Vicky (Stephen Adams) and Cheryl (Richard Jacobsen); his son-in-law Gene Van Grevenhof of Fort Dodge; his grandchildren, Jessica Burmeister Chris Adams, Shane Adams, Nicole Jacobsen and Tricia Jacobsen; and his sister-in-law Norma Nickell of Clarion. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren.
