He is survived by: his children, Dave Harkema, Doug Harkema (Nancy Schnell), Patti Metzger, Michelle Harkema (Abe Spangler) and Lisa Pliner (Scott); his grandchildren, Dani Morris (Jon), Natalie Pliner, Brock Metzger and Brad Pliner; his great grandchildren, Kayson Manson and Kinsley Valentine; his sister Nancy Gimer; and his siblings-in-law, Eileen Harkema and Paul Harrington (Sheri).
