He was predeceased by: his father Richard Kemnitz; his siblings, David Kemnitz and Karen Kemnitz; and his father-in-law Dennis Arkland. He is survived by: his wife Susan Kemnitz; his children, Tana Motley (Landis), Kade Beehrle (Alysha) and Daniel Kemnitz Jr.; his grandchildren, Elsie, Addison, Matthew, Olivia, Dalton, Alexis (Nick), Aleshia and Alaura; his great grandchild Gennovia; his mother Patricia Schumacher (Pat); his sister Jennifer Corley (Mike); his nieces, Kendall Henkelvig (Derek) and June; his nephew Jack; and his mother-in-law Nancy Arkland.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 30th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Foust Funeral Home (1115 SW 2nd St, Eagle Grove, IA 50533). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 30th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
