It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Duane Popelka of Dysart, Iowa, born in Toledo, Iowa, who passed away on April 1, 2021, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Popelka and Elsie Popelka (Kolosh); and his siblings-in-law, Deb Leek and Dave Posusta. He is survived by: his wife Diane Marie Posusta of Traer; his children, Denise Hemann (Tim) of Marshalltown and Rick Popelka (Cheryl) of Traer; his grandchildren, Allie Kriz of Des Moines, Haley Hemann of Des Moines, Megan, Tyler and Tate Popelka of Traer; his brothers, Larry Popelka (Marilyn) of Clutier and Steve Popelka (Diane) of Clutier; his mother-in-law Betty Posusta of Toledo; and his siblings-in-law, Duane Leek of Toledo and Jean Posusta of Billings, MT. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
