He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Mescher and Germaine Mescher (Thier); his wife Marilyn Funke; and his in-laws, Duane Goedken, Leroy (Lois), Robert, Dennis, David Funke (Jan), Norma Edleman (Robert) and Vila Hofer (Dale).
He is survived by: his children, Carmen Krantz (Robert) of Dyersville, Molly Newhouse (Chad) of Cedar Rapids and Laura Sellers (Jason) of Broomfield, CO; his grandchildren, Kara, Conner, Leah Krantz, Emma, Sophie, William Newhouse, Madeline, Claire and Gabrielle Sellers; his siblings, Mary Ellen Goedken of Muscatine, Myra Mescher of New York City, Donna Meyer (Dan) of Dyersville, Dale Mescher (Mary) of Cascade and Lee Mescher (Deb) of Goodyear, AZ; and his in-laws, Jean Funke of Dubuque and Elaine Funke of Dyersville.
Memorials are preferred to St. Francis Xavier Basilica or the Dyersville Community Foundation.
