He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gehring and Anna Gehring (Azer). He is survived by: his wife Diane M. Kasparek; his children, Steven Gehring (Birdie) of Palmer, AK and Susan Magnussen (Carl) of Belgrade, MT; and his grandchildren, Dave, Joey, Megan Gehring and Colton Magnussen.
