She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Olberding and Agnes Olberding (Kramer); her husband Donald Hermsen; her son Mark; her daughter-in-law Lois Hermsen; her grandson Scott Hermsen; her parents-in-law, Edward and Florence Hermsen; her siblings, Richard Olberding, Gene Olberding and George Olberding; and her in-laws, Charles Hermsen, Ed Hermsen Jr., Wilma Hermsen, Shirley Hermsen and Alice Olberding.
She is survived by: her children, Joseph Hermsen (Lynn) of Farley, Gary Hermsen of Luxemburg, Alan Hermsen (Debra) of Manchester, Mary Zuckerman (Howard) of Livonia, MI, Ann Dunkel (Pat) of Earlville, Lisa Sweeney (David) of Tipton and Jane Bockenstedt (Brian) of Center Point; her daughter-in-law Cindy Hermsen of Dubuque; her brother Jim Olberding (Katie) of Dyersville; and her in-laws, Darlene Olberding of Dyersville, Shirley Olberding of Dyersville and Sharon Hermsen of Dyersville. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at the Kramer-Morris Funeral Home (750 12th Ave SW, Dyersville, IA 52040). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church (103 S Andres St, Luxemburg, IA 52056).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Ellen Kennedy Living Center or Hospice of Dubuque.
