John left this world on January 9, 2025 at the age of 88, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. In the sacred silence of farewell, John is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Foy and Elda Foy (Riddle); his wife Joyce Korthaus; his son-in-law David Tyler; and his brother Robert Foy.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kim Tyler (Rollie Ford) of Moscow, Jane Armstrong (Brian) of Clarence and Lisa Pelzer (Perry) of Moscow; and his sister Ruthann Martin (Denny). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Bentley Funeral Home (1001 6th St, Durant, IA 52747). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location.
