He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gehrls and Lena Gehrls (Meier); his spouse Erna M. Martz Neumann; and his siblings, Leona Schnack, Eldie, Elmer and Raymond Gehrls.
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Karolyn Kleppe (Donn) of Tipton, Belva Schamberger (Duffy) of Marion, Judy Bierkamp (Ron) of Durant, Lowell Gehrls of DeWitt, Leon Schnack (Mary Kae) of Port Orange, FL and Randall Gehrls (Janet) of New Liberty; and his stepchildren, Teresa Clark (Jerry) of Davenport, Gary Neumann (Vicki) of Durant and Kevin Neumann of Stockton. He is also survived by 4 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great grandchildren.
