He was predeceased by : his parents, Andrew Bolton and Vera Bolton (Green); his wife Shirley Bolton; his son Jeffery Bolton; and his siblings, Edna Mae Bryan and Wayne Bolton.

He is survived by : his former life partner Patricia Olsen; his children, Bonnie (Bob Peterson) of Omaha, Jeff, Julie (Jim Thrasher) of Buckeye, Linda Lehan Dane (Alan Dane) of Omaha and Steve Bolton (Felicia) of Palm Harbor, Florida; his daughter-in-law Penny Bolton of Dunlap, Iowa; his stepchildren, Dave Glenn and Jenneane (Dan Hendon) of Dunlap, Iowa; and his siblings, Frances Moore of Vermillion, Joan (James Long) of Alma and James Bolton of Huntsville, Alabama. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.

“We are very sad to hear of leonard’s passing. While i did not get to see him much, his impression on me was that of a vey honest man, sincerely committed to family, and one who enjoyed life. I loved his smile and humor. Mom (donadean clauff-briggs) always spoke highly of him and appreciated his efforts to stay connected with us. I was glad to have been able to spend time with him last spring and talk about him and dad drinking moonshine so many years ago. He will be truly missed. David clauff”
