He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfons Klein and Marcella Klein (Langenfeld); his son Robert Klein; his great grandchild Oliver Miller; his siblings, Rosemary Koppold, Bernard Klein, Richard Klein and Alfons Klein Jr.; and his daughter-in-law Rhonda Nemitz.
He is survived by: his wife JoEllen Klein of Harlan; his children, Donna (Tom Hubbell) of Omaha, Kevin Klein (Ann) of Ida Grove, Laurie (Dean Wilke) of Panama, Bart Klein (Lisa) of Dunlap and Bryan Klein (Dawn) of Logan, Iowa; his brother Charlie Klein (Marie) of Earling; and his sisters-in-law, Maxine Klein of Audubon and Julie Klein of Earling. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fouts Funeral Home- Dunlap (500 Court St, Dunlap, IA 51529). A Mass was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (509 S 3rd St, Dunlap, IA 51529).
