He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Behrendt and Mary Behrendt (Windeshausen); his son Eddie Behrendt; and his siblings, Theresa Schomers, Susan Brungardt and Jake Behrendt.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Behrendt of Dunlap, Iowa; and his children, Donna (Mark Brasel), Dennis (Ann Behrendt), Freddie (Ann Behrendt), Margaret (Chuck Sandquist), Nick (Darcy Behrendt), Lydia (Tom Peterson), Raymond (Michelle Behrendt), John "Wofat" (Kami Behrendt), Therese (Rick Slechta) and Donnie (Jodi Behrendt). He is also survived by 29 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
