He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Block and Marie Block (Kloewer); his stepfather Perry Smith; his siblings, Tom Block (Peggy), Jane Eggers (Larry), Marsha Grindle and Rodney Block; and his nieces, Whitney Anne Cloud and Peggy Arlene Block.
He is survived by: his sisters, Diane Houston (David) of Omaha, Nebraska, Charlene Yaple (Ralph) of Lenexa, Kansas and Sherry Baldwin (Larry) of Neola, Iowa; and his siblings-in-law, David Grindle of Soldier, Iowa and Barb Block of Dunlap. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
