He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Melby and Christine Melby (Lundberg); his siblings, Ella Schlensig, Olga Melby, Raymond, Harry, Robert, Earl, Norman and Wilber Melby; and his grandson Mark Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Vivian Pape; his children, Joyce Klein (Russ) of Denison, Clarion Melby (Gay) of Dow City and Randy Melby (Dorothy) of Dunlap, Iowa; his grandchildren, Mike Miller (Jill), Alana Trimble (Russ), Chris Melby (Tanya) and Dan Melby (Marcella); his great grandchildren, Gage, Gavin Miller, Jaxon, Tyson, Aaliyah, Ryan Trimble, Camden, Zella Melby, Jack and Elodie Melby; and his sisters-in-law, Bonnie Baker of Clearfield, Marion Melby of Moorhead and Crystal Ward of McCook, Nebraska. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
