He was predeceased by: his brothers, Kelly Murphy, Mike Murphy and Barney Murphy; and his niece Chrisy Murphy. He is survived by: his wife Karol Murphy of Dunlap; his children, Tim Murphy (Alisha) of Dunlap, Katie Miller (Joel) of Dunlap and Ryan Murphy (Jodi) of Davie; and his grandchild Camden Block.
