He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll Edwin Hauptly and Ilene Marle Hauptly (Smith); his stepmother Alice Jean Bartholomew (Shimp); his siblings, Beatrice Hauptly and Robert Hauptly; and his stepbrother Jim Bartholomew.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Hauptly of Dunkerton, IA; his children, Benjamin Hauptly (Sharon) of Dunkerton, IA, Gina Gartin (David) of Cedar Falls, IA and Michael Hauptly (Misty Dawn) of Asheboro, NC; his siblings, Don Hauptly of Dunkerton, IA, Jon Hauptly (Cindy) of Waterloo, IA, Jan Hauptly of Dunkerton, IA, Joe Bartholomew (Teresa) of Dunkerton, IA, Janet Dullard (Steve) of Florida, Jolene Wheeler (Robert) of Cedar Falls, IA and Jayne Reed (Randy) of Dunkerton, IA; and his sisters-in-law, Siong Hauptly and Lisa Bartholomew. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 10th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the White Funeral Home (1315 Main St, Jesup, IA 50648).
Memorials will be given to Jim's favorite organizations.
