He is survived by: his wife Marlene Ryan (Burgin); his children, Dean Ryan (Tina) of Maretta, Dawn Bliss (Dan) of Marion, Dana Tharp of Cedar Rapids, Joseph Ryan (Arin) of Chugiak and Jacqueline Hettinger of Edgewood; his stepchildren, Kim Martin-Pettigrew (James) of Marshalltown, Kandi Roelfs (Jim) of Ackley and Kurt Martin (Susan) of Dundee; and his sister Marge Wirtz of Independence. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
