It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Darrell Koester of Duncombe, Iowa, who passed away on October 18, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Koester and Ruth Koester (Thompson); his siblings, Delbert (Virginia), Lois Gottsch (Delbert), Norma Sievers (Glenn), Clarine Perkins (Ed) and Charlene Taylor (Mark); and his brother-in-law Dale Gottschalk.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Coppinger; his sons, Kurt (Denise) of Urbandale, Dr. Brett of Florence, KY, Kraig (Michele) of Granville, OH and Dr. Steve (Katie) of Hendersonville, TN; his brother DeLoy (Michelle); and his siblings-in-law, David Coppinger (Helen), Joann Gottschalk and Maureen Lenz (Cliff). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons.

Memorials may be directed to the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
