He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Max Amillion and Florence Evengeline Hand Gerber; his wife Rachel Ann Smith; his sons, William J. Gerber of Dubuque and Mark D. Gerber (Andrea) of Apple Valley, MN; his grandchildren, Keyan, Kaleb and Kalvin; his sisters-in-law, Rita Murray (Bob), Paula Zwack (Joe) of Dubuque, Charlotte McCoy (Jim) of Dubuque and Christine Sweeney (Ray) of Roanoke, VA; and his brother Max. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VIATS, Salvation Army, and Crescent Community Health.
