He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Brosnahan and Cecelia Brosnahan (Sandwell); and his brother Stephen. He is survived by: his wife Chris Brosnahan; his stepsons, Steve (Beth) of Ankeny, Mike (Melesia) of Dubuque and Tom of Dubuque; his grandchildren, Alex (Chelsea), Lauren (Charlie), Anna and Maddie; his great grandchild Landon; his sister Mary McDonald (Tim); and his sisters-in-law, Pam Beaver and Sandy Smith (Larry). He is also survived by several nieces and Nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the William Brosnahan Memorial Fund.
