She was predeceased by: her parents, John Giesemann and Amanda Giesemann (Wiese); her former husband Melvin Dagitz; her husband Kenneth Stein; her daughter Judy Yeager; her brothers, Kenneth Gieseman (Thelma), George Giesemann (Adela) and Virgil Giesemann (Mary); her in-laws, Dorothy Dagitz, Donald Dagitz (Lois) and Ella King; and also, Tommy Giesemann and Gary Giesemann.
She is survived by: her children, Betty Cavanagh (Ron) of Dubuque and Mark Dagitz (Amy) of Des Moines; her son-in-law Neill Yeager of Dubuque; her stepdaughter Sandra Stein of Lawrenceville; her grandchildren, Amy Welter (John) of Dubuque, Brad Cavanagh (Jen) of Dubuque, David Yeager of Dubuque, Matt Cavanagh (Karen) of Dubuque, Christopher Yeager of Dubuque, Wilhelm and Anneliese Dagitz of Des Moines; and her great grandchildren, Daniel of Dubuque, Sophie of Dubuque, Thomas Welter of Dubuque, Sam of Dubuque, Andrew of Dubuque, Ryan of Dubuque and Collin Cavanagh of Dubuque.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to Hospice of Dubuque.
