It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verda Pattison (Dubuque, Iowa), who passed away on April 5, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Verda departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Verda may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Verda leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Stroup and Mary Stroup; her husband Jim; her brother David Stroup; and her son Michael.
She is survived by: her sons, David (Jane) of Grand Prairie, TX and Tim (Michelle) of Yuma, AZ; her granddaughter Tina Jensen (Steven) of Dubuque, IA; and her siblings, Stanley Stroup, Kathryn Hunter, Ellen Gilbert, Wilma Leyendecker (John) and Rosalyn Stroup. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great- granddaughter.
