She was predeceased by: her stepfather Steve Smothers; her grandparents, Gladys, Leo Henkels, Virginia and Harold Brandel; and her uncle Richard "Chip" Knutson.
She is survived by: her parents, Dave Henkels of Dubuque, IA and Pam Smothers (Brandel) of Dubuque, IA; her siblings, David Henkels (Mickie) of Dubuque, IA, Dan Henkels (Sarah) of Dubuque, IA, Mandy DeMuth (David) of Dubuque, IA, Michael Smothers (Wendy) of Youngstown, NC and Lance Smothers (Jill Jahnke) of Dubuque, IA; her nieces and nephews, Tyler Winders, Kaitlyn Henkels (Jacob Ambrosy), Kylie Sahm (Spencer), Camden Henkels (Michael Husemann), Blake Henkels, Dalton Kohn (Katie Knockel), Kinslee DeMuth and Mason DeMuth; her uncles, Steve Brandel (Donna) and Kevin Brandel (Joan Lindsay); her cousins, Katie, Jenny, Kyle (Megan) and Jessie Knutson; and her aunt Kim Knutson.
