She is survived by: her sons, Paul Merkes (Valerie Canby) of Peosta, IA, Mark Merkes (Terri) of Dubuque, Pat Merkes (Sandy) of Epworth, IA, Mike Merkes (Tammy) of Dubuque, Roger Merkes (Christina) of Holy Cross, IA and Kevin Merkes (Cindy) of Dubuque; and her siblings-in-law, Doris A. Offermann of New Vienna, IA, Doris M. Offermann of Earlville, IA and Joel Glennon of Dubuque. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren.
