He was predeceased by: his parents, Clem McGovern and Gertrude McGovern (Schmitt); his son Todd McGovern; his brothers-in-law, Mike Tigges and Steve Golinvaux; and his great-nephew Cade McGovern.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his sons, Craig and Shane (Molly); and his grandchildren, Brooklyn, Evelyn, Kallen, Arlo, Louie and Hayden.
In lieu of flowers a Terry McGovern memorial fund will be established.
