She was predeceased by: her parents, Roman Kemp and Modesta Kemp (Cross); her husband C. J. Richard; her former husband Raymond Harkey Sr.; her stepson Raymond Harkey Jr.; her granddaughter Kellie Galle; her great grandchildren, Evan Pusateri, Evan Harkey and Kalvin Scheffert; her siblings, James Kemp (Carol), Marlene Gieseman (Calvin), Larry Kemp and Ronald Kemp; and her sister-in-law Janice Kemp.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Harkey (Jean) of Dubuque, IA, David Harkey (Meegan) of Dubuque, IA, Dale Harkey (Patti) of Dubuque, IA, Darla Scheffert (Bruce) of Dubuque, IA, Denise Schweer (Mark) of Iowa City, IA and Douglas Roman Harkey of Dubuque, IA; her brother William "Whitey" Kemp of Dubuque, IA; her sisters-in-law, Sherlon Kemp of Winter Haven, FL and Bonnie Kemp of Dubuque, IA; and her aunt Jeanine Burbach of Dubuque, IA.
