It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ruth Margaret Turnis of Dubuque, Iowa, born in Monticello, Iowa, who passed away on November 21, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Turnis and Mary Turnis (Sherlock); her siblings, Richard "Dick" Turnis, Mark Turnis, William "Bill" Turnis, Phillip "Phil" Turnis, Norma McDonell, Elizabeth "Betty" Turnis and Janet Digmann; and her siblings-in-law, Stephen McDonell, Larry Jasper and Sylvia Turnis.
She is survived by: her sisters, Mary Frances Jasper of Hopkinton and Roseanne Heid of Hopkinton; her siblings-in-law, Jack Digmann, Leo Heid of Hopkinton, Verla Turnis of Worthington, Verna Turnis of DeWitt and Mary Kay Turnis of Manchester; and her niece Cathy McDermott. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews, several special God-Children; and many wonderful friends.
They helped her make her own choices until the end, so she died as she lived, or as the old song says "I did it my way!"In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Alpha-1 Foundation, Hospice of Dubuque, NAMI of Dubuque, or Mental Health America.
