He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Wintermote and Barbara Wintermote (Lynch); and his mother-in-law Marlene White. He is survived by: his wife Tess Wintermote; his grandchildren, Lucy, Theo and Violet; his siblings, Pamela Mickelson, Marsha Chapman (Dickie) and Sandy Griebel (Jim); his parent-in-law John White (Sue); and also, Alexx Wintermote and Cody Wintermote (Ellie Freiburger).

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Ron's memory.
