He is survived by: his children, Craig Spangler of Onalaska and Sarah Smith (Brad) of Dubuque; his grandchildren, Andrew Spangler, Daniel Spangler, Riley Smith and Sophia Smith; his sister Patricia DeVries of Shoreview, Minnesota.; and his pet Willie.
