He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Nemmers and Rose Beringer Nemmers; his wife Liz; and his parents-in-law, Judson and Frances Ulrich (Cremer).
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Rhomberg (Jim) of Dubuque, Carol Peters (Scott) of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Connie White (Jim) of New Vienna, Iowa, Dr. Jim Nemmers (Jodi) of Dubuque and Sara Sodawasser (Kent) of Marion; his grandchildren, Kate Barrett (Marty), Nick Rhomberg (Lacy), Michael Rhomberg, Matt, Megan Peters, Rob White (Lauren) and Drs; his great grandchildren, CJ, William Barrett, Maddie, James Rhomberg, Sloane Nemmers and Alexander White; and his siblings, Carol Bertsch of Omaha, Ruth (Stanley Miroyiannis), Glenn (Mary Nemmers), Harriet (James McKay), Joan (AJ Gerken) and Bob Bertsch. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to St. Joseph the Worker Church or Holy Family Catholic Schools. The family requests no flowers.
