She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph McGeough and Marcella McGeough (Regan); and her brother Robert McGeough. She is survived by: her husband Royce L. Russell; her daughters, Michelle Russell (Allen Hirashiki) of San Ramon, CA and Stephanie Viertel (Marc) of Dubuque; her grandchildren, Megan Viertel (Mason Bauer) of Dubuque and Nathan Viertel of Dubuque; and her aunt Lavonne Kerth of Dubuque.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Dubuque County Humane Society and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
