We are sad to announce that on May 9, 2024, Paul J. Vaassen of Dubuque, Iowa, born in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Vaassen and Mary Vaassen (Busch); his parents-in-law, Joe and Nonie Donovan; his brother Jerome Vaassen; and his sisters-in-law, Kathie Vaassen and Mary Jane Vaassen.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Donovan of Joseph's Prairie Catholic Church; his children, Dan Vaassen (Sharon) of Ann Arbor, MI, Jim Vaassen (Karen) of Key West, IA, Paula McGraw (Rod) of Winthrop, IA and Patrick Vaassen (Terry) of Marshalltown, IA; his grandchildren, Rachael Coleman, Patti Fosdick, Nick Vaassen, Matt McGraw, Mitch McGraw, Mason McGraw and Max McGraw; his siblings, Marge Cummer (Bill), Gene Vaassen, Leonard Vaassen, Phyllis Lutes, Gerald Vaassen (Connie) and Lois Vaassen; and his sister-in-law Carole Vaassen. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.

A memorial fund will be established in his name.
