He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Nugent and Helen Nugent (Crane); his wife Mary; and his son Michael Nugent. He is survived by: his children, Maureen Knostman (Steve) of Dublin, OH and Patrick Nugent of Epworth; his granddaughters, Madeline Rose Knostman of Marysville, OH and Colleen Lily Knostman of New York, NY; his siblings, Dean Nugent (Mary) of Holmen, WI and Colleen Nugent of LaCrosse, WI; his siblings-in-law, Bob Benish of La Crosse, WI and Helen Feyen of Dubuque; his siblings, Clarence Nugent, Bernard Nugent, Larry Nugent, Lois Flynn, Phyllis Benish and Mary Anita Thiele; and his siblings-in-law, Laddie Flynn, Dennis Thiele, Jerome Meyer, Donald Conlon, Walt Wedewer, David Kupferschmidt, Bill Feyen, June Nugent, Bernice Meyer, Dorothy Kupferschmidt, Anna Mae Conlon and Mildred Wedewer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A wake will be held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 3:45 PM at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory (2595 Rockdale Rd, Dubuque, IA 52003). Visitation will be held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Nativity (1224 Alta Vista St, Dubuque, IA 52001).
Memorials may be directed to the Sisters of St. Francis of Dubuque, Iowa, or the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens in Owen's memory.
