He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Berg and Dolores Berg (Pippert); and his parents-in-law, Phil and JoAnne Weber. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Weber (Becky); his children, Peter Berg of North Liberty, IA and Melissa Bresler (Bryan) of Cedar Rapids, IA; his grandchildren, Breccan, Adlee Berg, McKenna and Roman Bresler; his siblings, Linda Kane (Jim), Gloria Ewalt (John), Bonnie Berg, Larry Berg and Steve Berg (Susan); and his parents-in-law, Dianne Hansen Sr. (Paul), Jeanne Weber, Sharon Holzer (Tom), Ron Weber (Mary), Tony Weber (Shari) and Bob Weber (Tess).

In lieu of flowers, plants, and statues, the family prefers donations to St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Stonehill Health Care Center, Hospice of Dubuque, or Dubuque Arboretum.
