She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward A. Meyer and Frances E. Meyer (Gansemer); her son Michael Nugent; and her siblings, Jerome Meyer (Bernice), Anna Mae Conlon (Donald), Mildred Wedewer (Walt) and Dorothy Kupferschmidt (David).
She is survived by: her husband Owen Nugent of Dubuque; her children, Maureen Knostman (Steve) of Dublin, OH and Patrick Nugent of Epworth; her granddaughters, Madeline Rose Knostman of Marysville, OH and Colleen Lily Knostman of New York, NY; her sister Helen Feyen (Bill) of Dubuque; and her siblings-in-law, Dean Nugent (Mary) of Holmen, WI, Colleen Nugent of LaCrosse, WI, Clarence Nugent, Bernard Nugent, Larry Nugent, Laddie Flynn, David Kupferschmidt, Donald Conlon, Walt Wedewer, Bill Feyen, Dennis Thiele, Bernice Meyer (Jerome), June Nugent (Bernard), Lois Flynn (Laddie), Phyllis Benish (Bob) and Mary Anita Thiele (Dennis). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory (2595 Rockdale Rd, Dubuque, IA 52003). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Nativity (1224 Alta Vista St, Dubuque, IA 52001).
Memorials may be directed to Nativity Catholic Church or Hospice of Dubuque in Mary's memory.
