Marilyn Jean Knief Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marilyn Jean Knief of Maquoketa, Iowa, who passed away on April 15, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Hankemeier and Sylvia Hankemeier (Wiegert); her husband Irvin Knief; her daughter Kimberly Thill; her grandson Timothy Schiffman; her brothers, Wilmer Hankemeier and Ray Hankemeier; and her parents-in-law, Louis and Alvina Knief.
She is survived by: her sons, Kevin Knief (Susan) and Daniel Knief (Gretchen); her grandchildren, Corey Manderscheid (Shannon), Jamie Manderscheid (Tricia), Mitchell Knief (Shannon), Anthony Venki, Lucas Knief, Colton Knief, Tera Oberbroeckling (Steve), Brianne Kirch, Justine Dunn (Wesley) and Lexi Knief; her sister Betty Schroeder (David); her son-in-law William Thill; and her sisters-in-law, Norine Hankemeier and Judy Hankemeier. She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint John's Lutheran Church - St. Donatus (32101 370th St, Bellevue, IA 52031). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Marilyn Knief memorial fund has been established.
