He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lester and Marguerite Garthwaite, Sr. (Mason); his wife Dorothy "Dot" Kimmell; his daughter Cheryl Williams (John) of Gainesville, FL; his grandchildren, Sean Maher (Charissa) and Shannon Matricardi (Rob); his great grandchild Connor Maher; his brother Patrick; and his friends, Harry and Sheri Wolter.
