She was predeceased by: her parents, John Schrobilgen and Clara Momberg Schrobilgen; her spouse Francis "Fritz" Ackerman; her siblings, William "Bill" Schrobilgen, John "Bub" Schrobilgen Jr. and Ann Hall; and her son-in-law Lenny Leib.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Bastian (Bill) of Eden Prairie, MN, Laura Averill (Marty) of Waterloo, IA, Sandy Ackerman of Hoosick Falls, NY, Sally Leib of Dubuque, Julie Ackerman of Mead, CO, John Ackerman (Ann) of Mounds View, MN and Jim Ackerman (Julie) of Mead, CO; and her siblings, Donald Schrobilgen of Asbury, IA, Marlene Luchsinger of Dubuque and Jeanette Lincoln of Independence, IA.. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Mary's Inn Maternity Home.
