It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katherine Sawvel of Dubuque, Iowa, born in Waterloo, Iowa, who passed away on October 23, 2022, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Hillier and Ruby Hillier (Burd); her husband Donald Sawvel; her sons, Don, Jim and Larry Sawvel; and her sisters, Margaret, Ruth and Eleanor.
She is survived by: her children, Lois Selle of Dubuque, Jack Sawvel (Diane) of Dubuque, Kathy Nesteby (Dan) of Dubuque and Sue Sawvel of Dubuque. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren, and many special nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
