He was predeceased by: his parents, Alois Frick and Elizabeth Frick (Behrens); his sister Marna Kunkel; his son-in-law Jim Lucas; and his brothers-in-law, Dave Simon, Jay Smith and John Kunkel.
He is survived by: his wife Diana Frick; his daughters, June Lucas of Forest Grove and Joan Molera of Rio Rico, Arizona; his son-in-law Rudolfo "Rudy" Molera of Rio Rico, Arizona; his grandchildren, Claire Lucas of Ashland, Jess Lucas of Corvallis and Jacob Molera of Rio Rico, Arizona; his sisters, Sue Simon of Dubuque and Barb Smith of Westminster, Colorado; and his siblings-in-law, Joan Zimmerman of Dubuque, Mary Wagner of Australia and Harold "Skip" Zimmerman of Dubuque. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
