He is survived by: his children, Ida L. Ahtoong (Joe Solem), Arleigh "Cissy" Schlarmann Sr. (Brian), Jimmy Abitz, Bo Abitz (Danita) and John C. Abitz Jr. (Karen). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 30 great- grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
